OUR STORY
Topseal Services was founded in 2013 by Vancouver Island resident and experienced concrete finishing specialist Dave Gilmour. Dave started the business for a deeply personal reason: he wanted to stop working out of town so he could remain close to home and be present while raising his sons.
What began as a way to put family first has grown into a family-run business. Today, Dave’s brother and sons are involved in Topseal, helping the company serve commercial, industrial and residential clients throughout Vancouver Island.
With more than 20 years of industry experience and over 1,000 completed projects, the Topseal team brings practical knowledge to concrete coating, resin flooring, resurfacing, repair, polishing, surface preparation and waterproofing projects.
The original purpose behind the company continues to influence how Topseal operates: remain accountable to the communities it serves, work hard, communicate openly and build client relationships that last beyond a single project.
Topseal Services carries liability insurance and maintains WorkSafeBC coverage. These protections support our work with homeowners, commercial property owners, facility managers, general contractors and institutional clients across Vancouver Island.
Current insurance and WorkSafeBC documentation can be provided when required for contractor qualification, tendering or project administration.

OUR INSTALLATION PROCESS
Every project begins with understanding the concrete, operating conditions and desired finish. From preparation through final inspection, Topseal follows a clear process designed around long-term coating performance.

We discuss the space, existing surface, intended use, timing and the result you want to achieve.

The concrete is reviewed for damage, moisture, contamination, previous coatings and other relevant conditions.

We recommend a preparation method and coating system suited to the surface and operating environment.

The surface is prepared, required repairs are completed and the selected system is professionally installed.
